Our Nature Walk

On Tuesday we went on a nature walk in our school yard! Each child collected things that they thought was interesting. We looked for different numbers in our environment ex. 1 leaf, 2 flowers, etc. and discussed what we saw and what we could hear.

Take a look at what we discovered!

Taking a pause to close our eyes and listen to what we could hear. The children heard birds, the leaves in the wind, and a siren!

A little race helped break up our walk. Sometimes kids just need to run free.

Bear walks back to the school.

Once we were done collecting all our materials, we used the natural items to make a number line. We represented the numbers 1-20 and used our natural materials to create the numbers! The students that wanted to help were using the names of the numbers to select which one they would create! We practised these numbers in French too. Join us tonight from 5:00-6:30 p.m. for our Community Night and check them out!
