Literacy Day

Today's Literacy Day was full of excitement. We started the day off in the gym for our monthly assembly where we saw several fun costumes and a lot of students in their Pajamas.

Mme Chiodo dressed as Cat in the Hat!

We listened to the assembly about fairness.

Elena won the Character Counts draw this month for Early Years!
She displayed fairness in the classroom.

Mme Wray's class read us a French book.

We listened to a book read by news reporter Michelle Maluske.

We listened to a story read by one of the LaSalle Vipers hockey players, Connor Rosaasen, and got a special visit from their mascot, Vinny the Viper!

Vinny and the Vipers joined us for recess. How lucky!

The Vipers brought everyone a free game pass for any game this year! There will be one in everyone's mailbag tonight.

We had a visit from Ana!

We listened to a book read by guest reader Danielle Wade.  Danielle is a musical theater performer best known for winning CBC's Over the Rainbow competition a few years ago. She portrayed Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz musical, among other roles.

Local authors Ben Van Dongen and Christian Laforet read us their favourite children's stories.  They are local co-authors of the science fiction book "No Light Tomorrow".

Mrs. Harnois was dressed as Fancy Nancy!

We spent the afternoon reading and playing games with our parent guests.
Special thanks to all the parents who could attend. We had a great day!
