Saidat

On Tuesday, we attended an assembly with Saidat.  She taught us about training our brains.  We learned that our brains are the size of our two fists put together. She told us that when we come to school, we train our brains.

She spoke about listening, asking questions and trying our best everyday that we are at school, in order to train our brains.  We discussed how sometimes you need to ask for help so that your brain can find the answer and that you can't know everything, but that's why we're learning!

We also learned some positive phrases that we can say to others to let them know that they are appreciated: "I like you, I'm glad yo're in my class, let's learn together!"  "Teacher you're cool, thank you for being my teacher, I think you're the best teacher in the world!"  It is always nice to make others feel good.

Finally, we learned the power of the word YET.   Maybe you can'd do something YET, but if you try, you're going to get better at it.

As she taught us about the power of training our brains, she also taught us a dance that was really difficult.  She showed it to us once and although we all thought we couldn't do it (teachers included), she reminded us that we just couldn't do it YET!  She broke it down into steps and helped us along the way, and in the end we all did it together.  It was a lot of fun!

As we finished the dance we were VERY tired!
