Investigating a gourd

Today we investigated a gourd.  We discussed what it looks like, feels like and smells like.  We also made several different predictions.

What it looks, feels and smells like:

-a green stem (Madison R.)
-it's smooth and bumpy (Isabelle)
-c'est orange et jaune (Kevin)
-there's a little bit of vert on it (Peyton)
-it's kind of round at the bottom (Teagan)
-it smells funny (Hayden)

Our predictions:

Dans une courge, il y a (in a gourd, there is):
-les graines (Kate & Hayden)
-it has lots of bumps on it (Hayden)
-maybe the bumps are the seeds pushing out (Kate)
-it will be dry inside (Audrina)

Our findings:

1) There are seeds (les graines) inside.
2) It is bumpy (cahoteux) inside.
3) The bumps are not caused by the seeds.
4) It is wet inside.
5) The seeds were smaller than a pumpkin's seeds.
